Feature: Me ‘N Ed’s Pizza

In the spirit of Taste of the Tri-Cities, running from February 15 to March 19, we’ll be featuring Austin Heights restaurants on our blog. Austin Heights is home to a variety of unique restaurants spanning many different cultural tastes. Come, eat and experience what Austin Heights has to offer!

Driving through Austin Heights in Coquitlam, it’s impossible to miss the glowing ‘Me ’N Ed’s Pizza Parlor’ sign. The big red rectangle with its illuminated letters is a beacon, welcoming hungry passersby to come in and enjoy some of the best pizza the Tri-Cities has to offer.

As its name implies, Me ’N Ed’s Pizza Parlor is known for its pizza, crafted using a signature crust made with from-scratch dough that’s prepped every morning. It’s this care and dedication to delicious detail that’s had generations of customers coming back to this family-owned restaurant since it opened its doors in 1969.

Pizza is the star of the menu, but there are plenty of other items to choose from as well. The menu provides a great selection of other Canadian pizza parlour fare like soups, salads, and appetizers. Sit and savour a starter, like oven-roasted wings or a  mountain of nachos, before diving into your main, whether it’s a freshly made sandwich, a classic Italian lasagna or one of Me ’N Ed’s specialty pizzas. Pair your meal with a locally crafted beer from one of the Tri-Cities many breweries. Can’t choose? Daily food and drink specials listed on chalk boards at the entrance and above the bar will help you make your decision.

I ordered the quick and tasty lunch special – soup, a small pizza and a pop. Creamy thai chicken soup and my favourite ham and pineapple pizza made for a warm and flavourful lunch on a rainy weekday in February.

Me ’N Ed’s is the type of restaurant you want to stay awhile and experience. The interior welcomes you with wooden booths and comfortable seats; an indoor fireplace for coziness on rainy days; an eclectic selection of vintage art and images on the walls, adding to Me ’N Ed’s nostalgic signature vibe. On drier days, check out the brand new patio out back, complete with welcoming strings of lights overhead and plenty of room to spread out with friends.

Whether it’s a cozy lunch on a cold day or an evening on the patio with (socially distanced) friends, Me ’N Ed’s is one of our top picks for pizza in Austin Heights!

Me ‘N Ed’s is participating in the Taste of the Tri-Cities February 15 to March 19, 2021. Reference TOTT when ordering and enjoy a dozen wings, any one of five selected salads, and a medium specialty pizza of your choice for $39.95.
