Free Gardening Soil Event

Free Gardening Soil Event

Calling all beginner gardeners and gardening enthusiasts — we’re hosting a Free Gardening Soil Community Event and you’re invited!

On Saturday, September 25, from 9AM – 12PM, visit any one of our 38 Coquitlam Munch planters, located all around Austin Heights, and take as much gardening soil as you would like for your personal use.

Don’t forget to bring your own bags, buckets, and/or wheelbarrows, to transport the soil home! The free soil will be available on a first-come-first-served basis until all of it is gone.

Visit our colourful Pop-Up Parklet, located in front of the Safeway on Austin Avenue, to pick up a physical copy of the event map, or download the map today, for the full list of planter locations.

Why are we giving away gardening soil?
The rumours are true — we’re getting new planters from LifeSpace Gardens for our Coquitlam Munch Program, and all of our current planters will be donated to SD34 and the Grow Local Society. However, before our planters can be donated, all of the soil must go (to make transport easier), so we have lots of good gardening soil to give away!
